Jubilee of Choirs and Church Musicians

In the spirit of the Jubilee Year of Hope, I would like to invite you to attend a special event on November 23rd, the Solemnity Christ The King, to coincide with the Jubilee of Choirs and Choristers, taking place in Rome on the same day.
We are inviting choirs and church musicians to participate in an afternoon of joyful celebration of the gift of sacred music that builds community, strengthens faith and inspires hope.
The Programme will begin with a facilitated workshop at Newry Conference and Banqueting Centre from 2.30pm - 4.30pm where participants will have the opportunity to learn new music, make new friends, share their gifts, and have some fun.
The programme will provide an opportunity for everyone to contribute to the musical liturgy for the 5.30pm Mass at Newry Cathedral, with Archbishop Eamon Martin presiding.
As Pope Francis said, “Your music and your song are a true instrument of evangelisation, which touches people's hearts and allows one to perceive the beauty of Paradise." I do hope that you will take this opportunity to participate in this joyful celebration.

All Church Choirs and Musicians from the Diocese of Dromore and neighbouring parishes from the Archdiocese of Armagh.
Where and at what times will the event be held?
Workshop: Newry Conference and Banqueting Centre, The Mall, Newry. BT34 1AT. From
2.30pm - 4.30pm
Mass will be celebrated in Newry Cathedral. 5.30pm
